Coaches
Salina South's girls soccer program started in the fall '98 as a combined sport with Salina Central. In 2001 South High played its first season as an independent program. It is currently coached by Trey Crow, Caleb Williams, and Hernan Hernandez. In the 23 years as a program the Cougars have one league title, one state championship, finished 4th once and 3rd once.
Head Coach: Trey Crow
Coach Crow has coached the Cougars as a head (10 years) and assistant (4 years) for 14 of the past 23 years. He has taught at South High and South Middle school for the past 21 years. He attended Bethany College from 1997-2001 where he was a 4 year starter for the soccer team. He has also coached or assisted for numerous YMCA and club teams. His course load at South High includes Biology, Anatomy and Physiology, and AP Biology. He coached the Cougars to a 3rd place finish in 2023 and 4th in 2024. He has been AVCTL Div. I Coach of the Year 2 times and 5A Coach of the Year in 2023.
Assistant Coach: Caleb Williams
Coach Williams has assisted with the Cougars' soccer team since 2019. He has worked in many fields through the years and is now working as a para at South High. He spent his college years playing for York University in Nebraska. Since coming to Salina he has been involved in both the club and high school programs. He was part of a 2023 3rd place team and 2024 4th place team.
Assistant Coach: Hernan Hernandez
Coach Hernandez has been an assistant coach of the Cougar's soccer team since 2022. He returned to Salina after college to teach at the elementary level and currently middle school ELL at Salina South Middle School. He has helped with various parks and rec and club teams over the past few years before joining the high school. He was part of the 2023 3rd place and 2024 4th place teams for 5A.
