The 2016-17 Peppers Dance Team was involved in many things this year. For the first time,
the dance team worked with the SHS Cougar Marching Band and danced to the band playing their songs! This is a great experience for girls who plan on being involved on a dance team on the college level, as many college dance programs are a part of their band.

In October, the Peppers sold shirts for the Pink Out football game, and were able to donate $500 to
the Tammy Walker Cancer Center in Salina!

The SHS Peppers and the CHS Vets united for a combined performance in December at the BiCentennial Center!

The Peppers attended the Kansas Spectacular Competition in Olathe, KS
on January 20-21, 2017. The team took 3 routines and was awarded
a Sweepstakes Trophy for scoring Division I on all 3 routines and
were also awarded an Academic Runner-Up award
for combined team GPA!
Della Mettlen, Sr. and Whitney Turner, Fr. danced solos and
were both awarded a Division I rating!

The annual Lil' Peppers Dance clinic and performance was held on Valentine's Day this year! All of
the songs were about hearts and love!

The Peppers hosted the Sadie's Pep Rally, Crowning, and Dance! This is an annual team fundraiser.

We attended a 2nd competition and traveled with the SHS Cheerleaders to Baldwin, KS! We took 2 routines and
scored a Division 2 rating on both routines!

We combined with the cheerleaders and twirlers and performed a Combo Routine at the South/Central game in February!

We were invited to perform at Coronado Elementary and Stewart Elementary!

We ended our dance season with a Team Banquet to honor our three seniors and receive awards and recognition!

Good luck to our 2017 Seniors: Annabel, Kacin, and Della
Annabel: Attending Kansas Wesleyan University
Kacin: Attending Kansas Wesleyan University
Della: Attending Kansas Wesleyan University
All three will be on their college dance team!
